Jacqui got a camera at the age of 7 and her lifelong passion for photography was born. She has never looked back.
She graduated from the University of Missouri, School of Journalism. It was at Missou that she pursued both fast-paced newspaper writing and photographic art. She graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism degree and boarded the Royal Viking Sea cruise ship for her dream job of world travel and photography. It was aboard ship that she wrote about fabulous ports of call, photographed some of the wonders of the world and interviewed celebrities for the inquiring sailing audience.
Back in the States she eventually found her way to a job as a newspaper reporter/photographer in the Washington D.C. area. The Washington Post Newspaper Company promptly bought the newspaper where she was working. She helped the Post open several more newspapers covering the nearby Washington suburbs. And, as assistant managing editor, she helped produce the newspaper.
Jacqui came to San Francisco with her fiancee. It was a place they had fallen in love with on several visits. Her love of people, children and photography came together with the start of Jacqui Fiels Photography. After nearly two decades, she is best known in the Bay area for her creative family and children's portraits, capturing each person's uniqueness.
Her artistic philosophy is simple - let the personality shine through. She loves to show the miraculous bump of pregnancy, capture the downy essence of a newborn's tender beginnings, profile executives for their business publications, or create a timeless family portrait. She strives to bring out each individual's character.
Jacqui's love of the Bay area can be seen in her scenic works. Plump vineyard grapes, the dark velvet shroud of night at the Golden Gate Bridge, and the most talked about, the Twin Views of the Golden Gate Bridge - shot from atop the North bridge tower, 700+ feet up. She has had a several exhibits of her work at various locations in the city.
